Description
The Cliff Queen (scientific name: *Sinningia leucotricha* (Hoehne) H.E. Moore) is a tuberous succulent in the Gesneriaceae family, belonging to the genus *Sinningia*. The base of the plant has a flattened, globular tuberous root, and the apex bears a bud. The stems are green and clustered; mature plants typically reach about 30 cm tall, some even taller. Leaves arise from the upper parts of the stems, are ovate, opposite, with acuminate tips, and green. The leaves and young stems are densely covered with short white hairs that are smooth and glossy. Flowers appear at the tips of the stems; the flower stalk is slender, petals slightly bent at the tips, red, with a white woolly outer surface. The plant flowers from late spring to early autumn.
