Description
Snowhead cactus (scientific name: *Mammillaria chionocephala*) is a succulent plant in the Cactaceae family, native to Mexico. The globe is spherical or short cylindrical, with a surface covered by spiral-shaped wart-like protrusions, and bears small yellow or pink flowers arranged in a ring at the apex. It originates from the high plateau in central Mexico at elevations of 1,800–2,400 meters. Its natural growing conditions include: a significant day–night temperature difference, annual rainfall below 400 mm; soil primarily composed of sandy loam formed from weathered volcanic rock; reduced watering frequency during the summer dormancy period; and maintaining temperatures above 5 °C in winter to prevent frost damage.
