Description
Mammillaria baumii, commonly known as Aromatic Bump, is a variety of the Mammillaria genus in the cactus family. The species is named for its fragrant flowers, and its variegated form appears as an abnormal growth of the stem, producing patterns similar to the marbled or stone-textured markings common in succulents. Native to Mexico, it prefers well‑drained sandy soils and plenty of sunlight. In summer it should be shaded from intense light, while in winter the potting soil should remain dry and temperatures above 10 °C should be maintained. When cultivating it, a loose, breathable soil mix (such as peat moss with coarse sand) should be used, and the substrate should be kept slightly moist during the growing period.
