Description
Red Colorful Cloud Pavilion (scientific name: *Euphorbia trigona ‘Rubra’*) is a shrub-like succulent plant in the Euphorbiaceae family, Euphorbia genus, also known as Red Dragon Bone. Its stem is upright and triangular columnar, with reddish‑brown transverse veins and hard spines on the epidermis; the leaves are dark red and ovate. The plant can reach 1 meter in height, the stems branch often and have multiple ridges, which are wavy. The leaves are dark red and the flowers are yellow‑green, cup‑shaped, blooming in summer. Compared with the original Colorful Cloud Pavilion species, its stem and leaf color are darker and its growth rate is slower.
Origin and habits
Native to the tropical areas of southern Africa, Namibia, it prefers full sun, warm, dry conditions, is drought tolerant but dislikes damp shade. When cultivating, its white latex is toxic; contact should be protected.
