Description
Euphorbia poissonii is a succulent shrub in the Euphorbiaceae family, genus Euphorbia, native to West Africa and now widely distributed in China and elsewhere. Its stems are upright, reaching up to 2 meters tall, with leaves that are obovate succulent leaves, and the flowers are yellow, giving it ornamental value. Morphological characteristics: the plant has a cylindrical succulent stem, branches about 3 cm thick, the epidermis is covered with milky wart‑like protrusions, and leaves cluster at the stem apex in dark green obovate succulent leaves. The inflorescence is a cup‑shaped cluster of umbels, about 1 cm in diameter. Distribution and habits: it mainly grows in open woodland, grassland, and similar habitats in West Africa, at elevations of 400–700 meters.
