Description
Copiapoa montana (dragon claw cactus) is a plant of the cactus family (Cactaceae), native to the northern Chilean Atacama Desert region. It is naturally found in the coastal desert areas of northern Chile, where it prefers ample sunshine, dry conditions, and can tolerate short-term frost (winter temperatures down to 5 °C). The plant blooms in summer; its flowers are tubular, usually yellow or white, open during the day and close at night.
