Description
Euphorbia knuthii (dog servant qilin) is a succulent plant in the Euphorbiaceae family, genus Euphorbia, native to Mozambique, Swaziland, and other parts of southern Africa, and is now used as a horticultural ornamental. It prefers warm climates, is drought-tolerant, and requires ample sunlight. Daily care involves keeping the soil moist (about once a week watering) and avoiding waterlogging. In winter the ambient temperature should be kept above 5 °C, and during the dormancy period watering should be stopped entirely. It can be propagated from tuberous stems or by seed; it grows slowly, and the tuber takes 8–12 years to fully emerge.
